| Interesting. I don't care want other think as long as the DMV, LEO recognize it as a motorcycle. If it's not registered as a motorcycle I don't have to wear a helmet in 50 states? This way I can park in the same spots as bikes and benefit from other goodies.
I guess the CanAm Spyder is selling really good for Polaris to jump on board. Can't go down the breakdown lane in traffic. Does it come with a cover for riding in the rain?
I will have to demo one at Sturgis. |

Maybe. These could be also. Starting price around $34,000. Legally a motorcycle--says so right on the frame, and the MSO. I've taken one for a spin.

LaGrange, GA | You guys bring up some interesting points - classified as a car would have to have all of the airbags and TPMS and all of the things that make cars so heavy these days. Classified as a bike I'd have to wear a helmet in my home state (really states, as I live a few thousand feet from the GA/AL line and spend nearly as much time in each.)
I'd really like to play with one, but don't know that I'd own one. I drive a crew cab pickup along with my bikes. I've really been wanting to add a small/sporty car to the mix. I don't think that would fit the bill, but if it were enough fun I might be able to talk myself out of that opinion. |

All the talk is about how the will be registered, I want to know how the insurance will classify it. All the speed of a sports car without all the mandated safety features? sounds expensive.
can anyone comment on how the classic cyclecars of yesteryear were registered? I have seen pieces in private collections and even museums but I never thought to ask about registration and or insurance. |

Yeah, same boat. This thing would have to really knock my socks off to re-route my search. I've been perusing 911s and Corvettes for a few years waiting to jump. |

I remember seeing them all over Europe when they first came out some years ago. I would always comment to myself that nobody over here would ever drive one on our roads with all the trucks, etc. Goes to show what I know, they're all over LA now. I see them in traffic on I-5 and they aren't even as big as some of the truck tires they're driving next to!

Marc They are 'surprising' - go on any roads in BC - up some steep grades - at or over the speed limit. And when you are behind the wheel (or a passenger) you feel you are in a regular sized car. AND - a surprise - they are in the TOP safety rated cars! I have a sporty car for myself - but the bike has higher mileage than both cars added together - in the same number of years!!! When asked why - I say in truth: "If I leave town - it is on an airplane - or a SPCSHP " !!! |

True statement. I just got back from Italy and the Mediterranean. Smart cars are as numerous as Vespa's over there.

| When the Slingshot demo rides start (no schedule announced so far), get in line for a ride/drive. We got to drive it at the Polaris dealer meeting, as did many of your dealers, no doubt, and it's an absolute gas. It handles so well that all you want are corners and curves. You hit a straight-away and you're 'bah, give me curves!' And as soon as you get into a curve, you accelerate ? because you can and it's going to track nice and true no matter how hard you gun it. I'll never be able to afford one, but it's a fun driving experience. They did a great job. |
