Posts: 466 Grand Cane, LA | One thought: Could be you're lugging the engine too much. Try a higher rpm when starting out and when switching to a higher gear. The email doesn't mention if it is doing it when slowing down. Jeff, can he post the video somewhere so the members could see it and give a more definitive answer? Some newer riders think that you can shift these bikes like Hardley's, but that is not the case. Our bikes take a good bit more rpms to shift properly and one could easily become lazy about running the rpms up enough to prevent lugging. I know a lot of times I'm bad about it when shifting to 6th because it puts the bike at about 70mph if you use the correct rpms.
