Ok...how the hell do you get the tank sticker (caution sticker...whatever you call it) off the tank? Its rubberized and is a PITA to get off. I now have an ugly scratched up sticker on my tank. ARGH!

I tried to heat it a bit and that didn't work. I tried to use some goof-off and other things but I am more concerned about my paint than that damn sticker (can you hear the frustration yet??? Ha ha)! I even tried to soak it with WD40 to no avail.

Any ideas? I would really like to have this thing gone.

The sticker on the left crash bar came off with some effort but left glue residue all over it. A bit of WD40 and GONE! Why can't I do the same on my tank??? Again...ARGH!

Thanks for any suggestions!

3M general purpose adhesive cleaner works very well and will not damage the paint. # on the can is 08984. You should be able to get it from NAPA or anywhere that sells 3M items.

I did have to use a hair dryer and some patience along with the 3M cleaner but was able to get the stickers off.

I got mine off with heat and WD40.........once you get a small patch started peel VERY SLOWLEY almost folding the sticker back on itself. Continue to peel slowly with one hand while placing your index finger where the sticker and tank meet. Use your finger to roll the sticker back as you pull. Using your finger this way provides additional force right at the joint. I think I had to stop 2 or 3 times to reheat the sticker, it seemed like once it cooled off it wanted to tear rather than peel.

GooGone works like a charm; took those darn stickers off my VStar 950 and XCT with very little effort and no marks.

I used a hair dryer to remove it. Any glue that is left wipes off easy with a spritz of WD-40. Cleaned up the area afterwards and it looked great!
