I am upgrading my front speakers. I have the Polk Audio MM651; 6.5 speakers. My fairing will not reattach, as if the thickness of the speaker exceeds the space. Has anyone else faced this problem? Can you help me with the solution that you found!!!

Sir,

How thick/wide are the speaker adapters?

Did you use speaker baffles?

Make sure that the inside top fairing tabs are sliding into there assigned slots. And then push down on the front of the fairing to lock in place.

With my setup:

Hertz Audio DSK 165.3 6-1/2", Scosche SAVW6 1995-Up Volkswagen Speaker Adapter , Metra 81-4300 5-1/4 to 6-1/2 Inch Plastic Speaker Baffles

Had to cut off a tab located at the top of the baffles.

One small area 1/4" on each baffle touches the inside of the fairing. No problem.

Your welcome to call me to discuss: 1-210-925-1695

Good luck!
