I put on a set of re-cored factory exhaust on my XR and am having trouble with the heat shields. Everything is lined up really well except where the tips and the heat shields meet. The fit flush at the top of the tip but they have an increasing gap as they go down the muffler/tips. I have taken everything off and re-installed with the same results. The heat shields have not been swapped with each side either. My only other option is to put on my original mufflers and see if the problem still exists but I am thinking it will. Has anybody else run into this when putting on re-cored pipes (WD, Atom bombs, etc.). The bulge is where the clamps go through to hold the heat shields on in the pic. Thanks.

I have a modified stock exhaust and installed different exhaust tips and have a slight gap like that as well. It doesn't bother me though.
