The new e3 seem to do the job, not add noisy, or doesn't cup as much. I keep mine at 40 psi.

The new compound tire is a direct replacement for the e3 radial. What am I missing, J?

DK has them too-they're the exact same price, both are good vendors & will have the MT's.

When I was searching for my replacement E3 tires I just checked out what came up in searches for Dunlop motorcycle tires. It seemed like anyone who carried Dunlop had the E3 MT tires in stock. Prices varied maybe $20 from one vendor to the next but the tires are very easy to find on line.

It's a direct replacement, and it's been out long enough to have the new inventory.

Anny is at Kyle's right now. He installed Bridgestone tires 20,000 ago and there is no cupping on the front tire. and both tires looked really good for that much mileage. Waiting to see what he says once he has them off the bike. They handled great in the rain and in the twisties.

The E3's I bought in September '14 from Motorcycle Superstore turned out to be the old ones. I figured a high volume dealer like them would have the new MT's, but that's not what they sent me

I figured that could happen, but on my last two tires I bought, one at the Honda dealer, and the other off line, I ensure it had verbiage related to the new tire. The dealer, which I bought over a year ago didn't think he had the new tire, but that's what it was off the shelf. I forget where I got the one online from, but I validated the verbiage stated the new compound, and then verified when it arrived at my door. The numbers are different, but to us consumers we are asking for brand, model, and size. I would contact them to see if they would replace the tire since you were expecting the newer tire. They may give you a coupon for your next purchase. I believe the ride difference is subtle, but the noise is reduced and the life is about another 2,000 miles.

I have a 2014 Vision and ride 2 up 85% of the time. Would you guys still recommend the E3"s? At 4200 miles my rear developed cupping and started singing a little in the twisties...I currently have 10k on the tires now and am looking to replace them...just don't want to buy the wrong tire if there is a better alternative out there.

I stand on the E3s regardless. If time and budget is a driving factor, many have opted for a car tire. You'll have a feeding frenzy on the subject in 3...2...1...

IMHO......Avon Cobras are a much better choice. I have had much better luck with them on my '08 Vision and my '12 Cross Country Tour. They are quieter, handle better, don't cup and deliver better mileage.

I replaced my rear tire in October with an E3 radial from Dennis Kirk and just Saturday replaced the front with the same. Had to replace the rear early for a 2400 mile trip. Had 18K on the front tire at replacement. I also put Ride-On in both tires with no wheel weights. Ride is like silk. Niether of the original E3s cupped.

I've never really noticed cupping, I call it scalloping if it's anything. I've used E3 for nearly a decade now, both bias on the Goldwings and Radial on the Vision. They have given me very good service and I've never felt the scalloping or the humming was ever a good reason to give them up. I've noticed the new blend rear tire doesn't do the scalloping and I kinda miss the singing in the curves, but the 2,000 more on miles is a good plus. I think the major key is to keep the tires at 41 psi cold.
