(NYSE: PII) today announced plans to build a new production facility in Huntsville, Alabama to provide additional capacity and flexibility as the company continues to experience rapid growth. Located Southwest of Huntsville City Center, the 600,000 square-foot facility will focus on off-road vehicle production. .."

This news came almost at the same time that Wall Street analysts downgraded Polaris (PII) stock from OUT-PERFORM to PERFORM, cause a nosedive from $152/share to $145/share in a few hours. As of the time of this post the market is still open and PII is down and may end up lower on the day. Their earnings report is scheduled for January 27, 2015.

Central Illinois | I view that stock dive about the same as the dive Ford stock took when they announced they were retooling to produce the F150 with an aluminum frame. Yes it had a very short term impact on production but who owns stocks for just a week or even a month? F has rebounded quite nicely and that drop was a buying opportunity. PII may well be entering a short period where their stock is a buying opportunity. |
