A petition has already been started. Several people on the VMC have signed it.

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/keep-victory-motorcycle-alive?ut...

I don' know how to put a hyperlink in.

Whether you think it's pointless or not, it's a way to collect one voice. Victory's facebook page has almost 900K followers.

Bump to keep this new. I would encourage everyone to sign the petition and spread the word. It could impact what happens 18 months from now when everything ends, which is strangely almost 20 years to the day since it started, July 4th 1998. Also, go to Victory's facebook page and leave a comment. Like Victory's facebook page.

Save it how? Are you putting together a consortium to buy it? Or just a request to Polaris to keep it. This was a business decision not lightly undertaken. They are not going to keep it just becasue 900,000 fans want it. But buying it might save it.

I couldn't agree with you More maddmaxu2. What they did. Took massive planning and thinking it through .. they said after 2012 they were loosing... so they kept loosing for a handful of year just to make sure this was a serious trend ... but here is the big kicker.. they announced worldwide what they are doing.... discounting merchandise, and basically pissing customers and dealers off.. I have read of more than a few dealers who recently sunk a 6 digit $$$ on making it a victory dealership , only to never even recoup their costs.... now think about this... you do this to these dealers.... they will more than likely still have loans that need paid for ... for what ever , buildinga, construction, or just the min $150000 polaris requires to open a victory dealership .. now what...?? So let's say victory/ polaris say hey guys... we were kidding.. we are going to bring it back based on our customer fan base ... do you think they would have even the same dealer network again? Hell no ... how many wouldn't even look back and move on to selling something else they feel are more stable ...

I never sensed that Victory really cared much for the dealers and treated them like an Avon or Amway distributor, you take the risk, not Victory. The plus was on the bikes, very reliable and easy to work on, thus reducing the need for the dealer even more except to sell bikes. Victory never put a lot behind the marketing that may have turned the tide. There are only few select folks who are really have their heart into the brand. Saving it? As other's have said, it's done, but there will be the few who will still ride and be the Haley's comet of the motorcycle world. I used to feel that way about Indian, but Victory has taken the throne of being the rare gem.

CEO Scott Wine said about Victory on the conference call with analysts, "With cumulative losses exceeding $100 million and growing, we could not continue to invest in the brand."

Were the startup costs for Indian, the lectric bike line, Slingshot, the drag racing team, that was sucked out of Vic a part of the loss? It's unfortunate he didn't discuss the poor management decisions he and his team made caught up to them. If things were going that bad, why would they continue spending???

You can make a company lose 100 million if you include the new paint shop / plant expansion, electric bike failure, racing, liquid cooled engine that was built for 1 year, global expansion that was still underway.

In 2005, at Polaris 50th Anniversary, Victory management announced they brought in people to help run the company because they didn't know what they were doing. They brought in "motorcycle people". After 2011, basically no updates or improvements. So for the first 7 years the business was poorly managed, and the last 6 years no updates. That is 13 out of the 18 years!
