OK, not finding anything under Search, so will throw this out.
Anybody else had an issue with a rattle coming from the trunk? If so, have you been able to isolate it and do anything about it?

I take it rattles when it is empty? You have ruled out some little item bouncing around in there? I have had trunks on my last two XCs and never heard a rattle. Have you tried shaking it and seeing if it's a little loose? Just guessing.

Yep, checked/tried all the above. It seems to be the worst at around 50-55 MPH, noted on today's ride. I'll just try more potential fixes I guess.

Check the point where it attaches to the 'lock and ride' pins on the bike. My backrest/luggage rack combo would rattle on them pins when riding over certain bumps or rough roads. I took a black plastic Folger's coffee can lid and cut strips out of it to use as spacer shim's to tighten mine up. It worked good but definatally shouldn't have to do such things on a brand new bike, especially accessories that cost $1000. Maybe check with your dealer on this since it really should be their problem to deal with.

40vegas, thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.
