I need to remove my exhaust pipes and I have never attempted this. I don't see too much of a problem except the heat shields are strapped to the pipes. How do you remove the straps t oget the shields off? Just cut them? Also when I put them back on what kind of straps do I use to reinstall them? Where can I buy them? Any suggestions or tips are appreciated.
Thanks,
RM

Don't have a XC so can't say for sure but the Vision owners have had to cut the strapping off the pipes. They reattach the heat shields using hose clamps (6" I believe).

YOu can check out this thread that talks about the Vision mod:

Yep, this previous post is correct. Had to cut them off my XR then use hose clamps. Check the different hose clamp lengths so you don't get too much excess hanging out from the screw down area. Then be careful where you place screw down so you can get at them for tightening once pipes are back on bike.
