With my battery showing signs of dying, I have been looking at these Lithium Iron Batteries, and trying to decide if they are worth their cost. Does anyone have or has had one of these? Thoughts or opinions?

I don't run a lithium battery by itself; but I've installed a Ballistic Evo 16 cell lithium battery in parallel with the AGM battery in my Rocket 3. Have about 850 CCA's now to turn over that monster motor in the cold. Works very well.

Kevinx on some other forms said he has several bikes that had problems with them battery's. He put them back on yuasa and problems went away
Every Harley and Vic comes with yuasa and its the best battery there is. Mine lasted 6 years

Great for cranking amps, poor for amp hours. If you're like me, and like to listen to the radio while washing the bike, stick with an AGM.

I have the 36c in my hayabusa's and the 24d in the vision. LOVE it. very strong battery. Had an issue with one once. called the company earthx. They overnight shipped me one with no questions and told me to keep the old one. Great service.

Advantages of a Lithium over a standard AGM/Wet cell battery are:

1. Smaller. My16 cell Lithium is half the size of my 310CCA AGM battery in my Rocket
2. Lighter. Much lighter.
3. While dormant; holds charge longer than AGM's or wet cell batteries

Disadvantages of a Lithium over a standard AGM/Wet cell battery are:

1. Some Lithium batteries require special chargers or charging techniques
2. As mentioned by Nozzledog earlier; not suitable for amp hours; only cranking amps
3. Generally more expensive than AGM's/wet cells

will I didn't know you have a Rocket also. I am making exhaust systems for them.

My battery in my 08 Vision is still in perfect shape.

You are making Rocket Exhaust systems? Very interesting. I like to see what you are manufacturing...

I have a Predator Exhaust made by a guy out in California... here's a pic of it:

thank you WILL !! Appears that smaller and lighter part would be good if you were racing or maybe building a bike where you had limited space? For me on a (close to) 1/2 Ton Touring motorcycle where i keep adding weight to it in the way of more Touring accessories, Racks, hitches etc, dropping a few Lbs if that is like a drop in the Ocean.. But its good to know the differences.

To the OP, I don't want to be a dick, but the proper term is Lithium Ion. I also had a Ballistic Evo in my Hammer, had to place a shim in the battery tray because it sat too low and I couldn't connect it to the bike. The nice thing about the battery is that it maintains it charge longer than a regular battery, I never had to put it on a trickle charger, of course the longest period without starting was about a month and no issues.
