All:

We just rolled out a Facebook poll with three Sturgis t-shirt designs, and we wanted to include you guys who may not be on Facebook.

Take a look, and if you vote, we'll make sure to include it in our final count.

Thanks!

Dave

Design 1 and 3 are bikes I won't ride ever again - so that leaves only #2 - for people who can't spell, or tough for people who can't read.

I can't even vote.

This is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy about Victory t-shirts.  Can they make it any more generic!!!?  I know somebody (hopefully not a room full of people) worked really hard to come up with those designs but there is not one thing about them that would make me take notice of the person wearing it.  They picked the worst possible angle of the most stripped down Victory model.  I guarantee, if you showed that head-on graphic to 1000 people at Sturgis, 999 would not know it was a Victory bike.  (The only reason I would even know is because I'd look at the blinkers real hard.)  Most people would probably guess Triumph or a Japanese cruiser.  If I wore any of those shirts to work, later in the year after Sturgis was over, they would not even draw a glance.

I don't expect them to put a Vision up there because it is too extreme and devisive, but come on.  Using a head-on shot?  Cross Country with the killer fairing.  No doubt what that is.  Side view?  Highball, from the right side showing the belt drive on that side.  3/4 rear view?  Either Cross bike, with or without a trunk.  Even the most die-hard Harley/BMW/Goldwing guy who knows his bikes would at least recognize it for what it is.

Victory is all about progression, style and unique lines.  Those shirts don't reflect any one of those aspects.  One of these days it will click with the people who design this stuff and they will really stand out.  Until then, I'll just use my Vision to make a statement.

Sorry if I stepped on any toes at corporate but this has been building up for a long time.  That survey just popped the zit.

Songfan throw'em a bone and throw one of your designs up there with a cool graphic. Override them.

+1 Tom

I am definitely NOT a fan of these designs either.

Since my mother always told me to keep my trap shut if I couldn't say anything nice, I'm going to try and spin this in a positive fashion.

As a talentless hack myself, it is always professionally gratifying to see work that highlights what an unpaid marketing intern can accomplish with MS Word, a $39.99 disk of 1000 fonts and a set of instructions that probably began with the words - "I need three t-shirts designed for my meeting in 45 minutes; if you EVER hope to have a paying job ANYWHERE, you wont let me down."

See, that wasn't so bad!

C'mon guys, you're startin' to sound like those other Victory sites. If you don't like the designs, just go to the next thread or offer some suggestions. Help out the mothership and be positive. Of the 3, I like #1 the best.

Tarpits - I appreciate your efforts to spin it positively!

I'd LOVE to throw out some designs but don't know how to approach the copyright issues.  They could use anything they want from me, I just want to know I won't get in trouble for using any of their images and altering them for a design.

I have a ton of ideas and a local friend with a silkscreen business and could make a bunch of prototypes for viewing.  If any of you insiders have a way for me to roll with this, let me know.  I don't want to make money off of it or steal anyones thunder, just do my part to push the brand.

Back to your regularly scheduled survey......(Sorry for the rant.  I had a feelling it wouldn't go over too well.)

Dave there is no bigger Victory fan than I, but those designs all suck balls. I would wear in the garage while tinkering.

2 & 3 I wouldn't wear if giving to me for free. !

I hope these are not examples of the great new clothing and apparel line I was told about last Saturday!!!!

I have to disagree Shirt two I do not like but #1 design I voted for and # 3 at least show an example of the companys product.
The shirt last year had the image from a 1979 Trans Am.
I bought one but it was to support Ma Vic not because I loved the Screming Chicken.

I would love to see a Vision on a T-shirt to be the symbol of Victory but the Judge is the new model in the Showroom currently.

Have you gotten approval from the corporation that owns the word 'STURGIS' that's on anything other than the 'WELCOME TO...' sign? Lots of vendors got 'papered' for not 'licensing' through them and had to take their items off the market for a huge loss. CAVEAT EMPTOR.
None of the High School 'designs' makes me want to buy one-

They don't feel like Sturgis.

Here is my take at a Sturgis shirt, and if you want to use it. Be my guest, just send me a shirt.

I like #3. I'll go to fb and do my vote so you don't count it here. When I look at #3 it speaks volumes to the passion of riding a motorcycle, and it is timeless. Come on folks, flush your brain and go back and think just for a moment what is it that you really love to do? Just because you do it on a Victory and you own a different looking bike, the core of what we do is embodied in #3. It screams, I love to ride a motorcycle! Wake up and don't be like the rest that you would be so easily ready to critisize.

I give Steven a plus, that would be cool for the back with a small logo on the front, it has my vote.

Great job for an amatuer!! Much better than the other designs. The 3 offered look like...........shitz and makes you wonder who designed those? Some computer geek?

dshelleny,
If you want to actually sell a lot of shirts, put the design on the back and a small facismile on the front (left upper chest area).

I often wonder if the people who design Victory's stuff actually ride. It's like the Tour Pack. To open it the passenger HAS to get off the bike. Harley seems to be the only company that get's it, hence their Tour Pack opens on the SIDE! The passenger can stay put. It's the little things like this that make a big difference.

+3 for sgiacci's shirt. It has a good looking logo and catches the "feel" of Sturgis. The first three all suck but #1 sucks the least. Voting for the first three shirts is like voting for the President............all the choices suck some just suck worse than others!
