| I know there are a bunch of posts on here about different kinds of oil. What I need your opinion on is, of a warranty concern. My dealership has stated that if I use anything but the Victory oil and there is a problem with the motor and they do an oil sample, they may not cover it under the warranty.
My bike has 500 miles and I already bought the AMS Oil, but I do not want to jeopardize my warranty as I received the extended 5 year warranty for free.
I have read great things about this oil want to know your opinion if you think it would actually be the cause of any warranty issues?

northwest florida | Mangnuson-Moss Act...Dealer is using scare tactics on you. If you use the wrong oil and they can prove you used the wrong oil then they may deny warranty repairs. BUT they must prove you did it wrong. Amsoil is fine. Look in the tech section & read onwers manual on the right oil to use. Oil's well that ends well ! |

your dealer is NOT telling a lie. that is what they would do.. but that doesnt mean they would find anything wrong and that doesnt mean you would have a OIL RELATED engine problem.. i did see my polaris dealer do the exact thing you mentioned!! it was on a atv with s locked up motor.... here they found out the guy had the Original oil that came on the bike.... he never ever changed the oil .. then when it locked up. he expected it to be covered for Free.... the oil issues you "might" have is clutch.. even though i have usd Amsoil MC oil in my last 5 motorcycles, with 10's of thounsands of miles on each bike while using that oil, and i Never had clutch issues.. I have read where people have had clutch issues using victory oil !!! does that mean the oil caused it... i seriously doubt it. and the bottom line is. victory aint going to pay for it anyways... look at all the warranty denial claims you read about on here. a clutch is a wear item so NOT covered.. just like brake pads, rotors, tires etc.. you engine will No fail because of amsoil, so dont let the dealer SCARE you in to using what they sell... because thats exactly what they are doing.... scare tactics 101

Prairie City, IA United States | If you are going to spend $50 for AMS then why not just stick with Vic oil? I buy 5 qt jugs for $45 from my dealer and use a Wix filter. Used to use Rotella T6 until the clutch started slipping. Semi synthetic oil is what you need to use per Polaris. |

Chattanooga, TN | Lstayner, local dealer is charging $62.50 for 5qt. jug now, check your prices! Amsoil is less expensive! My clutch went out using MaVic oil so I replaced it with a Barnett clutch and now use AmSOil. Less expensive than the original and works better with full syn!

Acording to the law if they say you must use victory oil then they have to give you free oil. If you use something other then vic oil and motor or trans goes bad they have to prove the oil you used was at fault. | I just finished changing the oil. the dealer couldnt get me in until next Thursday so we will see what they say when they see the Mobil 1 oil filter under there.

They are blowing smoke and I would avoid a shop that does that.</p><p>For JohnnyVision, no need to go to court over the brand of oil causing an issue. If you use oil of the right JASO spec you have fully met the requirements of the warranty and they will need to change their specs to make a change for all future bikes in order to indict the oil as the cause. Do you really believe they will do that?<br /></p><p> </p>

| FWIW, when I ran AmsOil in my Vision, I had clutch slippage problems. AmsOil is a good oil, but maybe too good for a wet clutch. I no longer run AmsOil in my Vision. A functional clutch is more important to me than the warranty concern.

Jasper, MO | I've been using Amsoil in my Victory bikes for over 13 years. No problems. No clutch slippage. Double the Victory recommended oil change interval.
Just don't use the Amsoil 20W-50 MCV motorcycle oil in your Victory or Japanese brand bikes. It is specifically for Harleys and some European brands and has additives that could cause clutch slippage in anything else. (Different clutch materials).
I've always used the 20W-50 ARO in my Sport Cruiser and either that or the 10W-40 AMO in my Vision. Also use the 10W-40 AMO in my other (Japanese) brands of bikes. Never had a clutch slip with any of them.
The affect on the warranty is nothing to worry about.

The one I disliked the most was Rotella.. this is only for how the transmission "felt" in a short time. Then next in line was victory oil. Now even though I am a fan of amsoil, I have mobil1 mc oil in her now. I seem to have just about a equal feeling with the amsoil and mobil1. So because of that I usually use amsoil, unless I find mobil1 on sale.. |

I have used it a couple of times and plan on using it tomorrow when I do a change. I usually use Vic Oil, but every once in a while I use this with no problems. Seems to sound and feel just like Vic oil. |

Peru, IN | I'm still able to get the (1) qt bottles of Vic branded oil for 10 bucks. Nine qts = 2 oil changes so $45 per oil change. (I have a K&P reusable filter.) As long as I can find Vic oil that cheap, I'll stick with it. If the price goes up, I'll find something else. |

Get your to put it in writing that you have to use victory oil. Now they would have to give you free oil to keep the warranty in tack. Your dealer is lieing to you just like you don't have to do the 500 mile service to keep your warranty |
