Pittsburgh, PA | With the very appreciated help of Chance Showell i attempted to Plasti Dip my forks on my 2011 Vision. I never liked how my Vision had alot of black, BUT... the forks were grey/silver ??!! So when i was told about this product i thought i might as well give it a try.... Super cheap $$ walmart even sells it. I did no prep work other than clean the forks with glass cleaner. No sanding. No primer.

Pittsburgh, PA | i removed the fender and wheel. but left the forks ON the bike.. the color of black they have at this time is only that black.. but they sell a product called glossifer http://www.plastidip.com/ |

flagstaff, AZ | I plasti-dip'd most of the chrome and brushed aluminum pieces about a year ago, didn't do the forks because I wasn't sure if that would some how cause them to "overheat". It's surprisingly easy, guess I'll get busy on those forks now. |

Central Maryland | That really looks good Arkainzeye. I have been planning on painting my lower front fort tubes as well; don't like the gray color. I was planning on using Krylon enamel (black) spray paint.
Why did you choose to use Plastidip though? So you could easily remove it if you didn't like it? |

I plasti-dip'd most of the chrome and brushed aluminum pieces about a year ago, didn't do the forks because I wasn't sure if that would some how cause them to "overheat". It's surprisingly easy, guess I'll get busy on those forks now.
i really dont feel you should have any heat issues at all. unless you are using your Vision as a Dirt bike.. lol There are people who powder coat, chrome etc with no issues. And since these are right up in front where all the air/wind is i really feel if they did generate heat it wouldnt be a issue at all. |

Victory riders will spend a few dollars on rattle can enhancements so they can ride, in style. Been there, do that! |

lol !!! I love that man !! maybe Victory riders think outside of the box? instead of being sheep? i just had this talk yesterday with a goldwing rider.. i said i would poop in a bag and put HD on it and someone somewhere , maybe on ebay? would buy it!! |

LaGrange, GA | Looks really good, job well done. I've used it on several things, including my modified/cut factory GPS mount. I'm not a good painter, though, so mine always has some runs or bubbles from heavy spray. I'd like to do all of the silver parts on my SSG, but I don't think I could put it on well enough to look good. Dig this -- if you don't want to watch the whole thing, at least go to about 10m in so you can see (and hear) how badass it came out.

The question I have is how hard is this stuff to take off after it drys? The part I sprayed seems to have bonded so tight that I am not sure it will ever come off. Is there a trick to it? |

That's is true, but the beauty of it is all you have to do is get the spray can out and give it another shot.  and if you don't like it, it comes right off. Kind of like giving a new paint job a test drive before you actually spend big money and hate it. |

Pittsburgh, PA | In regards to it being a painted surface.. isn't the entire front end of the vision painted??? The main difference is, 2-3 inches wide vs the entire front end "fairing" etc... |

| plasti dipped the forks with the wheel on. Taped everything around the brake to make the cleanup easier. turned out great!!
