Just read the entire service bulletin, and this should be quick, and easy. Vic is sending a digital dial indicator with a hard mount fixture. If the engine fails the test the solution is super simple. Remove the primary, and add a diamond coated thrust space between the crank, and flywheel. This will properly space the crank, and thrust service. The whole thing should take a couple of hours, and includes oil, and all pre Loctite coated bolts.

Are we not worried about the metallic debris that will result? Expected to be such a tiny amount the filter will quickly pick it up?

There is no cutting or grinding with this repair, and if you need it, an oil change will be provided with it.
The thrust surface in the primary case was not cut properly, and there is a CHANCE the flywheel could rub the case. The shim goes between the flywheel, and crank; to space the flywheel out a few thousands. The same exact type of shimming can be found in auto manufactures forever. I set up end play for the crank with shims on my air cooled VWs, and they have been doing that since the 30's

No big deal for sure. Kudos to Victory for taking care of this quickly on the limited number of bikes affected. I was looking up motorcycle recalls and got inidated with ones from Harley, Ducati, Triumph, and BMW for recent years. Wow!

Ohhh, I gotcha - I thought the diamond coated spacer was intended to grind and self-clearance, like a diamond-coated sharpening stone. So it's really just diamond coated so it will be really hard and permanent - I get it. That sounds a lot better than what my mind had.
