Looks good!
On a sadder note, the Zumo 665 CANNOT handle a 30" drop from the passenger seat to the ground. It broke the internal antenna. I was so hopeing to use it on my big trip next week.
I guess I will be able to report on Garmin customer service sooner than later.

Garmin support was great, they gave me an authorization number and told me to return everything to them. I told them many of the components were already installed into the bike, so they told me to just return what I could. 10 days later I had a new unit, with all the extras. Now I have an extra motorcycle mount and XM antenna.
So, I have been using it for about two months now and love it! It works wonderfully with gloves on, even with a screen protector. I bought a liitle visor for it from ebay and it's very readable in all sunny conditions now. Without it, it was a little hard to see in the harsh summer sun.
The only peeves I have;
- The XM radio has to be restarted any time you turn the power off. It only means having to work your way thru two menus, but it would be nice not to. The mp3 music does not have the same issue, it restarts when the power does.
- The maps allow you to touch scroll with a finger drag, but the menus do not. I keep forgetting and try to finger-drag, which causes it to open whatever my finger touches first. You need to remember to use the arrows at the bottom to scroll.
- Mp3 files must be in a 128k compression. I had a slew of 64k file that it would not recognize.
- I ended up turning off the automatic traffic avoidance. I have had it reroute me off a freeway onto surface streets for a 2 min. traffic delay. When I am on the bike, I can usually get through traffic faster than the reroutes it tries to send me on. It also often gives red warning (slow/stopped traffic) when there is no problems. If the whole road is green, and only one or two segments are red, it's probably wrong.

Still haven't got to try the weather avoidance. Sunny skies all around here so far. I may get a chance when I try my Border2Border ride next month.

Regarding the XM antenna - The 665 ties the subscription to the antenna, not the receiver. So, while it may be nice to have, you would have to add a subscription to use it. Or you could sell it I suppose.

Turk - 2011-08-12 2:35 PM I just installed the Victory Zumo 660 on my new Vision and I'm trying to figure out which antenna I need to purchase for traffic, can someone point me in the right direction? I'm thinking it's the GTM-12, since the GTM-20 comes with a cig adapter that I don't need with the Victory gps harness I have. Is that correct? The harness that plugs the GPS directly into the Vision's wiring harness has a spare female usb connector hanging off of it... I presume that is where the antenna connects. But again, I don't know which one to get, the powered GTM-20 or the GTM-12 ? Thanks!

You figure this out yet?   It sure would be nice to see weather and possibly traffic on the 660 and have it all nicely wired via Plug-n-Play!

The 660 doesn't do weather. And, as I have the Victory XM radio, I don't need that functionality from the GPS, but it would be nice to have traffic. The way I see it, there are two antenna choices.... the GTM20 and the GTM12. It appears that the only difference is that the 20 has a cigarette lighter plug, and the 12 does not.

Good find. Unfortunately, I read on Garmin's site that MSN Direct will be discontinued at the end of the year, so it would only be a short term solution and a lot of expense.

Resurrecting this thread as I just bought the 665 for my 2011 and want to help others that want the XM to work without a lot of fuss. I had the dealer install the Garmin 660 mount on the bike and discovered that the XM antenna could not be found on my 665. I read a number of threads on the Internet, but not a lot of folks post about our mount & harness. I did find a post over at ZumoForums that showed differences in the electronic boards that are inside of the actual mount itself. I also verified that the usb connector on the harnesses are wired the same.

The fix is easy - simply swap the front of the mount where the GPS unit attaches to (including the electronic board (PCB)) and the XM antenna will then be recognized. No need to go into custom wiring.

Oh yeah, Garmin tech support sucks! Their default answer is to wire in the mount that came in the box and won't give you any "real" help at all.

How is this "swap" accomplished? Cutting and splicing wires ?

Still not following you on the swap of the front of the mount. That mount has a molded wire harness coming out of it with a connector meant to plug directly into the empty plug on the bike. The one that comes with the zumo itself has a different wire harness that won't plug into the cable harness on the bike directly.... so there must be something more to it....

If you remove the seven (7) small screws from the GPS mount, you will find two sets of wires (a power & ground and the audio wires).

Maybe these pictures will help.
FRONT - ON THE BACKSIDE OF THIS ARE 7 SCREWS - Remove them to split the mount apart.

BACKSIDE OF THE FRONT / PICTURE ABOVE after screw removal - THIS IS WHAT GETS SWAPPED - I replaced this whole front and didn't remove the board from the plastic. Why bother.

After the swap, XM and audio out worked. I have yet to confirm if mic in works, but will test that tonight. With my 2008, I never paired my cell phone to the bike. I just did with my 2011, but have yet to use it.

AWESOME!!! Thanks for the pics!

What XM antenna are you using? I presume it plugs into the USB port coming off of the harness? Have you tried the weather radar yet?

Weather radar and traffic work great. I opted not to get XM radio. I very rarely used it on my 08 and didn't want to pay for it (it is way more expensive than the radar and traffic).

A small word of caution on this - watch the springs inside the mount. The one for the side release button likes to fly.

This is awesome! I'm gonna go pick up the 665 from Garmin's HQ, since it's 5 blocks from my house. Will be selling my 660. I still have the original box and all the stuff that came with it. Guess I can also sell my separate Victory XM radio system too. Can any of the GPS's XM radio functions (or mp3 for that matter) be controlled from the bike's grip switches or console buttons?

Need to research how to xfer my favorites over...

I was looking at the Sirius package subscriptions and didn't see an option to just get weather without radio. Also, in the channel lineup, it looked like all the weather stations were specific to about 9 major cities only:

132 Boston/Philadelphia/Pittsburgh News & Issues Traffic/Weather Traffic & Weather
133 New York News & Issues Traffic/Weather Traffic & Weather
134 Washington, DC/Baltimore/Atlanta News & Issues Traffic/Weather Traffic & Weather
135 Chicago/Detroit News & Issues Traffic/Weather Traffic & Weather
136 Miami/Orlando/Tampa-St. Pete News & Issues Traffic/Weather Traffic & Weather
137 Dallas-Ft. Worth/Houston/Phoenix News & Issues Traffic/Weather Traffic & Weather
138 St. Louis/Minneapolis/Las Vegas News & Issues Traffic/Weather Traffic & Weather
139 San Francisco/Seattle/San Diego News & Issues Traffic/Weather Traffic & Weather
140 Los Angeles News & Issues Traffic/Weather Traffic & Weather

Since I don't live in any of these areas, is the 665 a waste for me?

Turk, with the weather, you are getting radar and forecasts on the screen, not the audio feeds for certain cities. I couldn't do just weather and traffic online. I had to call in and talk to a customer service representative.
